Morpholine is a versatile chemical used in various production processes such as fruit growing, using as an additive emulsifier for the manufacture of some types of wax used as a brightener.
However, its use as additive is not covered by European legislation. For this reason, it is desirable to control analytically the existence of this compound in the importation of certain foods that come from these countries to the European territory where the rules concerning this type of substance is much more demanding than in other markets.
To meet the needs of analytical control of companies, ainia technology center has launched a new specific method of analysis for the detection of morpholine as a food additive. Today, ainia is the only recognized laboratory in Spain that offers this service.
